Back to top1) Deposit/Booking
- At the time of booking there is a non-refundable booking deposit and then depending upon the work undertaken there may be a materials deposit. Deposits made will be deducted from the final bill. If you need to change the date please contact A Bathe Electrics directly at least 7 working days before the work is due to commence. If contacted within this time frame we can agree on a new date free of charge.
2) Estimates
- Estimates are not fixed Prices and can vary, estimates are approximate minimum-maximum but never a final price.
3) Before the Work
- Please ensure that somebody over the age of 18 will be on the property during the duration of the work and can make decisions regarding the work on behalf of the customer. In the event the landlord/landlady is absent from the premises when the work is to be carried out, it is the responsibility of the landlord/landlady to pass on the relevant information to the tenant about what needs to be done before/during the work and vice versa.
- Please provide access to the area where work is required to be carried out. Items such as furniture, equipment and appliances will need to be moved prior to our electrician’s arrival. If you are physically unable to do this and require assistance to move furniture, then this must be made known before any work is carried out, at which point we will be happy to help. This will be taken into consideration at the time of estimation. However, A Bathe Electrics does not take responsibility if these items are damaged during the moving process.
- Vital checks on your existing electrical installation will be carried out before any work can go ahead. Before any testing can be carried out on a circuit it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that all appliances and devices are unplugged. If the customer is unable to do this due to physical limitations, please notify A Bathe Electrics and we will be happy to assist you. If we find that further work is required as a result of these checks, we will discuss this with you before the scheduled work goes ahead.
- If you are hiring A Bathe Electrics to carry out electrical work then your power may need to be turned off completely or intermittently. Please make sure your household is aware and make the necessary arrangements needed while you may not have power. This is particularly important if you are working from home or using medical equipment. If unsure please speak to A Bathe Electrics in advance.
4) During the Work
- When work is being carried out please make sure that any children or pets do not go near the working area. If you are unsure about how to facilitate this, please speak to the electrician before the work is carried out.
- If the electrician is unable to work because the working area is inaccessible due to the presence of household members, other tradespeople or obstructive items, then time lost will be chargeable to the customer.
- Due to the nature of the work being carried out holes may be needed in ceilings or walls to access or install cables. A Bathe Electrics do not patch, plaster or paint and this needs to be arranged separately.
- If access is needed under the floor, then carpets and laminate will have to be lifted for the area to be made accessible. By prior arrangement, A Bathe Electrics can do this and lay carpets down again. We will endeavour to do this to the highest standard we can. However, we cannot guarantee that it can be laid back down exactly as it was before. You may need a professional flooring or carpet expert to relay your flooring after electrical work has taken place.
- If there are any signs of dangerous or unsatisfactory existing wiring or accessories found whilst the work is undertaken, then you will be notified. We may suggest that additional work is needed, but only if it is essential or beneficial long-term. We will always include you in the decision-making process.
- A Bathe Electrics is only responsible for the workmanship we carry out, not the work of previous electricians, the customer, or other tradespeople.

6) On Completion
- On completion of the work being carried out, the circuit will be tested and re-energized if it is safe to do so. It is the responsibility of the customer to check that all appliances work before the electrician leaves the premises. For example, please check your fridge/freezer.
